The square was built on the site of a former cemetery and double church, which was razed at the end of the 18th century to make way for a short-lived grain market.
Renamed several times, the square has undergone a series of transformations over the years, with the provincial charm of the square (laid out in 1912 and adorned with a white marble group by Suchetet entitled "Le rapt" - a triton abducting a naiad) - frequented by the people of Troy throughout the last century - giving way to a resolutely modern urban park.
The garden covers a spiral-shaped underground parking lot with a special feature worth discovering! Its 7 levels are decorated with 150 m2 of contemporary stained glass.
A nod to the nearby Saint-Urbain basilica....
