Pascal Pothier was born in 1966 in Paisy-Cosdon. In 1984, he joined the school of Liffol-le-Grand (school of Nancy) of furnishing arts. Graduated after 3 years of study, he became an assistant sculptor for Saint-Clair Cemin in New York in conceptual art-sculpture. He joined the workshop of Bénédicte Rousselot (for all the art in the world) in La Rochelle to learn the trade of master gilder.
