Musée numérique Micro-Folie

This innovative project, supported by the Ministry of Culture and coordinated by La Villette, is a space for culture and conviviality.

Supported by La Villette and the French Ministry of Culture, the Micro-Folie in La Chapelle-St-Luc is one of 575 sites set up across France to democratise the arts and digital technology. This friendly learning space offers a host of new and innovative discoveries. Whether cultural, digital or fun, there's something for everyone!
If your curiosity is piqued, come and discover our digital museum, with over 4,000 masterpieces from the world's greatest museums. The Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, the Château de Versailles, the Museum of Fine Arts in Mexico City, the Paris Opera House, the Arab World Institute and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts will all hold no secrets for you. The Fablab (the fabrication laboratory) is an integral part of the show, and includes two 3D printers where you can let your creativity run wild. For a moment, two virtual reality helmets (accessible to children aged 10 and over) will let you escape on Mount Everest, go scuba diving or navigate through the details of a painting by Brueghel the Elder.
Every month, we'll be offering a new programme specifically for the Micro-Folie.

At the Chapelle St-Luc, you'll find :
- The Digital Museum: The various masterpieces of the digital museum are projected onto a large screen and displayed in parallel on touch-screen tablets. You can either explore the content freely as it scrolls across the screen and onto the tablets, or take part in the various activities by registering. For young and old alike, there are games based on the content of the works, such as trivia, memory, puzzles and colouring.
- The Fablab: the Fablab is a space for creation and learning. 3D objects are created in two stages. The first is via the computer and a series of software programs, and the second is via different machines depending on the project chosen.
- Virtual reality: two virtual reality helmets are available for young people aged 10 and over.
