Pleasant wooded park surrounded by water, Olive island offers space for strolling and relaxing "nature" of an acre near the city center. Accessible from a walkway above the waves, or at the other end from a lock still running close, the Olive Island is the green lung of Nogent. Former island in the Seine, it holds its current form in 1841 by the construction of a new lock. In 1917, bequeathed by the widow of a former mayor of the town, Dr. Olive, becomes property of the city of Nogent-sur-Seine. A suitable mode of management and small developments allow navigate multiple environments: wooded natural area, park area, children's playground, meadows. A nature trail welcomes you and accompanies you along the trails with descriptive signs twenty species on the island.
