Discovering energy... The Nogent-sur-Seine nuclear power plant and its employees work day and night to produce safe, competitive electricity with no greenhouse gas emissions. The Nogent-sur-Seine nuclear power plant produces an average of 18 TWh/year. That's 9 years of operation of the Paris metro! The Nogent-sur-Seine nuclear power plant welcomes the public all year round to its Espace EDF Odysselec and also to its facilities. The Espace EDF Odysselec in Nogent-sur-Seine: The Espace EDF Odysselec is a place for information and discussion that allows visitors to discover the EDF group, its means of electricity production, its commitment to sustainable development, and how a nuclear power plant works in a fun and educational way. It is accessible from Monday to Saturday, by appointment, and on Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., with free access. An exhibition accessible to all: The 400 m² exhibition hall is accessible to all. A dynamo bike, touchscreen tablets and a scenography translated into three languages – French, English and Spanish – allow visitors to understand how a nuclear power plant works and the place of this energy in the energy mix. To make this space accessible to all, automatic doors and toilets adapted for people with reduced mobility have been installed. Audio descriptions and tactile models are available for the visually impaired. Modulated sound descriptions, sign language and subtitles have been set up for the hearing impaired. Finally, content adapted for certain mental disabilities is also now available throughout the exhibition space. Scientific workshops for 6-12 year-olds: The Nogent-sur-Seine nuclear power plant offers scientific workshops for 6-12 year-olds all year round. Every Wednesday during the school holidays, the teams at L'Espace EDF Odysselec at the Nogent-sur-Seine power plant offer a free science workshop for children aged 6 to 12 to help them discover the world of electricity. Guided tours: In order to introduce children to the world of a nuclear power plant, the tour guides at L'Espace EDF Odysselec offer lectures and tours of our facilities for groups by reservation and for individuals every first Saturday of the month. On the program: lecture on how a nuclear power plant works, guided tour of the site, the engine room and the simulator (subject to availability).
