Eglise Saint-Quentin de Dienville |
The Saint-Quentin Church in Dienville is an architectural gem. Built in the Flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance styles, this church boasts magnificent pillars, arches, vaults, and windows. It also houses exceptional furnishings, including a wrought iron choir grille made in 1768 by Mathieu Le Sueur, a monk and master locksmith from Clairvaux, as well as an organ from the Church of the Dames de Bernardines de St-Jacques near Vitry-le-François, acquired in 1791. Not to mention a superb Merovingian sarcophagus. The stained-glass windows in the choir and the eight statues date from the 14th to the 18th centuries. Also, discover the Treasury of the Churches inside, an exceptional collection of 89 sacred art objects protected as Historic Monuments. Free access to the church and the Treasury of the Churches is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is possible to visit it with a guide during the guided tours of Dienville offered by the Tourist Office.
