The church of Saint-Benoit dates back to the 11th century and the origin of the village's name.
Saint-Benoît-sur-Seine
Until the 11th century, it was called Thurcy, but the bishop of Troyes gave it to the abbey of Saint-Benoit-sur-Loire. The village was renowned for its Romanesque church, dedicated to Saint-Benoit.
Today, the nave and portal are Romanesque, while the apse and transept date from the 16th century. Some of the church's furnishings are listed as historic monuments, including a 16th-century limestone statue of Saint Benoit, a 17th-century oak sculpture of Saint Anne, and the 17th-century painted and gilded oak tabernacle and altarpiece.
