Eglise Notre Dame de la Nativité à Pargues |
This church, initially a priory founded in 1117 in connection with the Benedictine abbey of Montiéramey, bears witness to nearly 900 years of history. From the Romanesque period, a nave modified in the 17th century remains. This church combines various architectural styles: a majestic Gothic dungeon-bell tower from the 13th-14th century supported by the construction of a new transept, a classical chevet rebuilt in the 17th century after the collapse of the previous one and financed thanks to the discovery of a treasure in 1663. Inside, admire the 16th century wall paintings and statues, including some from the Sainterie de Vendeuvre-sur-Barse. The oldest local work dates back to the 14th century.
