Concert Iris SCIALUM et Krzysztof Michalaski

Saturday, November 16: ERVY LE CHATEL - Concert Iris SCIALUM and Krzysztof MICHALASKI. At the Saint-Pierre church at 6:30 p.m. Iris SCIALUM will be on the violin and Krzysztof MICHALASKI on the cello. They will play pieces by Jean-Sébastien BACH and Maurice RAVEL. The musical journey of these two young musicians is the promise of a high-quality concert after which we will meet at the circular hall to close this evening with a snack. Biographies: Iris Scialom is a winner of the Monte-Carlo – Prince Rainier III Violin Masters Prize, the Banque Populaire Foundation, the Gautier Capuçon Foundation, the Villecroze Academy, the Ravel Academy (2019 and 2021), the Violons de l'Espoir and the Tibor Junior International Competitions - during which she played with Gidon Kremer - and Mirecourt - After obtaining her Diploma of Performing Artist at the Paris Conservatory in the class of Stéphanie-Marie Degand, who gave her the opportunity to perform at the Cité de la Musique in Paris in the Sibelius Concerto, she was invited to the Tours Opera for the same concerto as well as Mozart's 5th, to the Salle Gaveau for the Brahms Concerto and to the Rouen Opera for Mozart's 4th. Iris has also performed as a soloist at the Seine Musicale with the Ensemble Appassionato and the Palais Royal Orchestra, as well as with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra in Kronberg. She also forms a Duo (Arborescence) with the young and brilliant pianist Antonin Bonnet which "imprints a wonderful poetic thrill on the music" (Alain Cochard, Concertclassic) and with which she has won prizes in prestigious chamber music competitions, notably in Rome and Vilnius. They have just obtained their Master's degree in chamber music at the CNSMDP with unanimous honors and congratulations from the jury in the classes of Claire Désert and François Salque, have already performed at La Roque d'Anthéron, at the Folles Journées de Nantes and Tokyo 2024 and will record a first album dedicated to Fauré, Ravel and Enesco with the Scala Music Label in October 2024. Iris plays a 1773 Guadagnini generously lent by Diane du Saillant. She will perform again in 2025 and 2026 in concertos at the Salle Gaveau in Paris. In September 2024, Krzysztof Michalski won second prize at the ARD International Cello Competition in Munich, as well as the prize for the best interpretation of the imposed work. He is also a laureate of several other prestigious competitions, such as the David Geringas International Competition, the Zoltán Kodály International Competition, the Krzysztof Penderecki International Competition, the Buchet International Competition, and the Johansen International Competition. Krzysztof is currently pursuing his master's degree at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), in the class of Edgar Moreau and Cyril Lacrouts. His musical development has been previously shaped by outstanding musicians and pedagogues such as Jérôme Pernoo (CNSMDP), Anne Gastinel (Académie Jaroussky), Claire Oppert, Aleksandr Khramouchin, Vladimir Perlin (Musica Mundi School), as well as Henryk Zarzycki (EAFIT University, Medellín, Colombia). As a soloist, he has performed in many countries and collaborated with prestigious ensembles such as the Munich Chamber Orchestra, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, as well as the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra (NOSPR), the Flanders Philharmonic Orchestra, the Kodály Symphony Orchestra and the Tolima Department Symphony Orchestra in Colombia. He has also participated in several renowned festivals, including the La Roque d'Anthéron Festival, Les Moments Musicaux in La Baule, the Deauville Festival, Clasissimo, Prezentacje, the Krzysztof Penderecki Music Festival, and La Folle Journée in Nantes. In October 2023, he had the honour of opening the concert “Martha Argerich and Friends play for Brussels”, performing Chopin’s Cello Sonata. In 2024, Krzysztof participated in the La Folle Journée festival in Tokyo, performed with the Republican Guard Orchestra, and toured Hungary with the Danubia Symphony Orchestra, where he performed Schumann’s Cello Concerto. His career has benefited from the support of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Safran Foundation, the Morningside Music Bridge programme, and the Pro Musica Bona Foundation.
