Château de Montabert dates back to the 19th century, and was built in 1862. However, the first traces of the old château can be found in the archives, dating back to around 1730, with the Paillot De Montabert family.

The property remained in the hands of this illustrious family for some 130 years, of which Jacques-Nicolas Paillot de Montabert was the most famous member, becoming a renowned painter and artist, notably for his complete treatise on painting.
The château was razed to the ground in 1860 by the Savoie family, who rebuilt it 3 years later in the format we know today, with its central three-storey tower.
This stone mansion is now a guest house, surrounded by an exceptional 14-hectare park planted with flowers and centenarian trees.
